About the Dentist

Dr. Lew received his degrees from the University of California - Berkeley and the University of Pennsylvania - Philadelphia. He has taught dentistry at both University of the Pacific and Prince Edward Dental School. He was president of the Marin County Dental Society for one year, and still is a board member and has continualy represented Marin as a delegate to the California Dental Association (CDA). In addition to being a current member of the Academy of General Dentistry, American Dental Association and the CDA, Dr. Lew has several hundred hours of continuing education credits in all phases of dentistry. He has been practicing dentistry in San Rafael since 1985. He also is a Fellow to the Pierre Fauchard Academy.

FAGD - Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry - General dentists do not specialize in any one facet of dentistry. According to the AGD, an FAGD "has been recognized by other dentists as a leader who is committed to quality patient care through continuing dental education." An FAGD dentist must earn a minimum of 500 approved continuing dental education credits and pass a comprehensive 400-question examination; s/he must also be an Academy of General Dentistry member for five continuous years.
